TISHA B'AV & The 3 Weeks
Tisha B'Av,
the Fast of the Ninth of Av, is a day of mourning to commemorate the many
tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people, many of which coincidentally
have occurred on the ninth of Av. Tisha B'Av means "the ninth (day) of Av."

on the Germanic language, spoken throughout the world and written with the
Hebrew alphabet. It originated in the Ashkenazi culture that developed from
about the 10th century in the Rhineland, and then spread to central and Eastern Europe, and eventually to other continents.
