The Exodus - Yetsi'at Mitzrayim Story

The Exodus is the departure and emancipation of the Israelite slaves from Egypt. Led by Moses and Aaron, the Hebrew slaves left Egypt to return to the Land of Israel where their forefathers had lived and which they had been promised by God. The Exodus forms the basis of the Jewish holiday of Passover.

The Establishment & Destruction First & Second Temple - Beit HaMikdash

Bet HaMikdash ; "The Holy House" was magnificent impressive structure located on the Temple Mount (Har HaBayit) in the old city of Jerusalem. Historically, two temples were built at this location. According to classical Jewish belief, the Temple acts as a spiritual public center.

The Revelation on Mt. Sinai, receiving the Torah and The Golden Calf Sin

The revelation of Sinai is religious occasion when G-d revealed himself to the people of Israel and gave them the Torah on Tables of the Covenant with the Ten Commandments. The golden calf was an idol made for the Israelites during Moses' absence, as he went up to Mount Sinai.

ל"ט (39) אבות מלאכה

בשבת אסורה עשיית מלאכה. הגדרת המלאכה אינה קשורה למידת הטרחה שבה, אלא בעיקר לזיקה שיש בפעולה לאחת מ-39 המלאכות האסורות בשבת. ל"ט (39) אבות מלאכה הם סוגי המלאכות האסורות מהתורה ליהודי לעשות בשבת. התורה מפרטת מעט מלאכות, והתורה שבעל פה מפרטת את כל סוגי המלאכות, וגוזרת אותן מהעבודות שנעשו להקמת המשכן והיו מלאכות אומן שמצריכות מומחיות.

39 Laws of Shabbat

Jewish law prohibits doing any form of melachah [Hebrew word for work] on Shabbat. But, as always, there are some exceptions. Orthodox and Conservative Jews don’t perform the 39 laws on Shabbat as the Talmud states.

מקווה

מקווה- על פי היהדות, הוא מאגר של מים שאינם שאובים, שאדם יכול לטבול בהם כולו, כדי להיטהר ממצבי טומאה שונים.

Brit Milah

Brit milah is a religious ceremony within Judaism to welcome infant Jewish boys into a covenant between God and the Children of Israel through ritual circumcision performed by a mohel ("circumciser"), on the eighth day of the child's life unless health reasons force a delay, in the presence of family and friends, followed by a celebratory meal (seudat mitzvah).

סיבות להיטבל במקווה

היהדות בוררת סוגי טומאה רבים, כגון טומאת המת, טומאת בעלי חיים ויש גם את טומאת הנידה. בהגדרה, אישה בשעת נידתה היא טמאה, לכל ימי הנידה ועד לשבוע שלם בו היא כבר לא רואה דם (היא צריכה לספור "שבעה נקיים").

1 cup uncooked bulgur wheat, 4 chicken thighs, skinned, 1/2 onion, chopped, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 14 1/2 ounce can stew tomatoes, no salt added, 1/2 cup prune juice, or orange juice, 6 pitted prunes, diced, 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Moroccan Fish

Nile perch, sliced, 3 cloves garlic, Sweet / Hot paprika, Cilantro (fresh), 4 tomatoes, 4 red peppers, ½ a cup of oil, Parve chicken soup powder, 1 small can tomato paste, Jalapeños peppers.

Farmer salad

3 medium tomatoes, diced, 2 medium cucumbers, diced, 1 medium sweet pepper, diced, 2 scallions with tops, diced, 4-6 radishes, diced, 2 medium carrots, coarsely shredded, 1/2 of a medium lettuce, coarsely shredded, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil, salt and pepper.

Israeli Potato Salad

6 medium potatoes, 4 eggs, 1 can peas and cubed carrots, 1/2 cup mayo, Salt to taste. Boil unpeeled potatoes and eggs in uncovered pot. When boiling, continue to heat until potatoes can be pierced with fork easily. Remove from heat, pour water and cover with cold water. 

Moroccan Chicken and Prune Tagine

4 ounces prunes, 4 ounces dried apricots, 1/2 cup toasted split almonds, 3 tablespoons, extra virgin olive oil, 8 portions chicken, 1 teaspoon salt, 20 grinds black pepper, 1 large onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 teaspoon ground turmeric, 3 cardamom pods, 1 teaspoon ground ginger.

סלט תפוחי אדמה ישראלי

מרשם עבור 12 אנשים בממוצע, 6 תפוחי אדמה ממוצעים, 4 ביצים, 1 קופסת שימורים של גזר ואפונה, ½ כוס מיונז, מלח. בשלו את תפוחי האדמה והביצים במים עד אשר ניתן לשבור את תפוחי האדמה עם מזלג בקלות. כסו את תפוחי האדמה במים קרים, קלפיו את הביצים ותפוחי האדמה וחתכי לקוביות.

Israeli Salad

1 cucumber, large, peeled, seeded, & cut into 1/4 inch dice, 4 plum tomatoes, cut into 1/2 inch dice, 2 red bell peppers, cut into 1/4 inch dice, 1 cup red cabbage, finely shredded 2 bunches scallions, minced, 1/2 cup radishes, finely diced, 1 half-sour pickle.

Torah– The 5 books

The Torah, or "Instruction," is also known as the "Five Books" of Moses, thus Chumash from Hebrew meaning "fivesome”.Torah is typically translated "law," but it also means something like "instructions" or "directions".

The Mishnah

Mishna from the rout SH.N.H which is the word “Learned, Studied or review. The Mishnah is a major work of Rabbinic Judaism, and the first major redaction into written form of Jewish oral traditions, called “The Oral Torah”.
